I did something very, very stupid.
I deleted the partition before I deleted the incompletely installed OS.
Fucked things up completely for myself.
So I reinstalled Windows, the reboot/restart/whatever thingy.
Then, everything stopped at the log-on/welcome screen. It just wouldn’t let me get into Windows. So I repeated my earlier actions of reinstalling Windows.
By the second time around of doing this, when I’d reached attempting to reinstall all my programs, the whole cd-rom drive wouldn’t work, so I went through the painful process all again.
A very strange weekend, it has to said.
Please, don’t tell me about any way that I could’ve saved all that lost data. I know I should have backed things up, but I didn’t. Learnt my lesson though. Kinda painful one.
Other lesson learnt: Be happy with Windows as it is. Or just learn to put up with it.
